Social Walks Programme

We welcome visitors and prospective members on our group walks. We are a friendly group of people with various backgrounds and interests but with the common one of enjoying a good walk. Most group walks attract between 8 to 20 walkers of varying age and ability. Why not come and join us? However, once you have checked us out you will have to join the National Organisation.

  Please bring packed lunch as we do not normally visit pubs.

Sun Mar 14       Blaise - River Avon - Durdham Downs

16-18ml. Start 9am - roadside parking on S side of Kellaway Avenue (alongside Horfield Common), Bristol BS7 (roughly between Dyrham Close & Kellaway Crescent on opposite side). A mixed walk of urban alleyways, open spaces and river walking on the NW fringe of Bristol. PLEASE JOIN US AFTERWARDS FOR A LIGHT BUFFET AND DRINK TO "CELEBRATE" BARBARA'S 50th BIRTHDAY !

20 mile walk around North Somerset; meet 9.00am at Goblin Combe cp, Cleeve just off A 370.

26ml, with 15 ml cut-off. Start 9.30 from Roath Road c.p., off High St, Portishead. Map: Exp 154, GR: ST466762.  Ldr Simon.

Sun May 30     Mendips Linear Walk

c.20ml. Meet c.p. behind The Woodborough PH in Winscombe. Minibus leaving promptly at 9 am for Wookey Hole. Please let leader know in advance in order to book a place on minibus. Fri 10/Sun 12 Dec    Pre Christmas Group Weekend at the Exmoor Basecamp near Lynmouth.

You are cordially invited to join Bristol & West LDWA group for a Pre-Christmas bash with good walking close at hand on moorland & coast. Details of the Exmoor Base Camp can be found here. Please note that the Walk Co-ordinator is only concerned with group social walks. Any enquiry regarding a challenge walk should be made to the contact on the relevant challenge walk page.

If you have offered a walk please check that I have got it down correctly.
